Client Profile: Senior Portraits with Kaitlyn

A stellar academic, a varsity cross country runner, a varsity softball player, with achievements and accomplishments to fill pages on a resume...meet Kaitlyn! She is a beautiful soul, and I had the pleasure of photographing her Senior Portraits.

Paige Henderson Studio - Senior Portrait Session, Covington, Louisiana

I interviewed Kaitlyn to find out how she keeps it all together in this world of distractions. Kids today are under so much pressure to succeed! They have to worry about their ACT score, GPA, extra-curricular sports and clubs, and the list goes on and on. How do you stay focused through the turmoil of homework, parties, relationships, social media, etc?

How would you describe your motivation for success? What drives you?

My motivation for success definitely revolves around being someone that others can count on. Whether it be on the softball field, in student council, in the classroom, around my friends, or at home, I always want to be the person that people can trust to pick up any loose ends and be anywhere I'm needed. I am also my own toughest critic who wants to be the absolute best I can be in every aspect that I apply myself to. I never let myself give anything less than my all, so I can do the most possible with the talents I have. I also find it really satisfying to push myself beyond my limits to see just how many things I can accomplish, especially when it's not expected of me to succeed in some ways.

Do you have a favorite quote?

"Life isn't about finding yourself; life is about creating yourself." - George Bernard Shaw

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning medal for?

If it was an Olympic sport, I would definitely take home the gold for meeting deadlines in any circumstance. Even on less important instances, or really soft deadlines that offer a lot of leeway, I try to say that I'll allow myself to take another day if I'm swamped with other responsibilities, but somehow I manage to still be up and working at 2 am if it isn't perfect yet. It's a blessing and a curse I have to admit.

What’s your favorite genre of book or movie?

I appreciate pretty much all kinds of books and films, so I couldn't possibly pick one genre, but my one of my favorite books right now that I would highly recommend would be Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

What skill would you like to master?

I would love to be able to master public speaking in any way, shape, or form. I have gotten better over the years, pushing myself to keep getting more experience with it over and over, but it's still a work in progress. Nonetheless, I would be pretty proud if I could effectively speak in front of crowds for presentations or speeches on the spot.

I certainly could have used some of Kaitlyn's drive and ambition when I was her age! She is well on her way to creating an amazing life for herself.
